You will serve as the primary technical security partner to Engineering, working from initial design through production. Responsibilities include reviewing code and infrastructure, managing vulnerability remediation, and enhancing security monitoring and detection capabilities.
The team operates with short feedback loops, expecting engineers to understand systems deeply and make pragmatic decisions. You will help build a safe environment for financial transactions while maintaining high velocity and minimal friction for developers.
What you'll do
- Partner with Engineering and Product from design and threat modeling to launch
- Review system designs, code, APIs, infrastructure, and cloud configurations
- Identify vulnerabilities and collaborate on pragmatic remediation strategies
- Administer and improve security tooling including SAST, DAST, and CSPM
- Design, implement, and tune security alert rules and detection logic
- Triage security detections and investigate suspicious production activity
- Lead incident response efforts including containment and recovery
- Manage the vulnerability management program from intake to verification
- Support third-party penetration tests and independent security assessments
What you'll need
- 5+ years of experience in product, application, or cloud security engineering
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to review code
- Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, JavaScript, or similar modern languages
- Practical knowledge of web app vulnerabilities and secure design principles
- Experience securing AWS environments, Kubernetes, and IaC workflows
- Hands-on experience with security tools like SAST, DAST, SIEM, or CSPM
- Strong investigation skills for analyzing logs and determining impact scope
- Experience working with SOC teams on alert escalation and runbooks
- Ability to communicate technical risk clearly to diverse stakeholders
Nice to have
- Experience securing fintech, payments, or digital-asset platforms
- Familiarity with blockchain systems, smart contracts, or key management
- Experience with Pulumi, Argo CD, Cloudflare, PostgreSQL, or Grafana
- Background in incident-response tooling or detection-as-code
- Experience defining operational metrics like detection coverage
- Ability to create security automation using code
- Relevant offensive-security or cloud-security certifications
