Join Katapult Labs as an AI Data Engineer, working directly with US startup partners to create reliable data infrastructure. You will transform scattered data sources into trusted insights, collaborating closely with product and business leaders rather than operating in a back-office capacity.
This role requires end-to-end ownership, from designing pipelines to automating workflows with AI tools. You will act as a builder in an early-stage environment, turning vague business questions into concrete data solutions without managerial layers.
What you'll do
- Design and own ETL/ELT pipelines moving data from APIs and SaaS tools to Snowflake
- Model data in Snowflake to ensure it is clean, trustworthy, and analytics-ready
- Build and maintain integrations, choosing between off-the-shelf connectors and custom code
- Collaborate with product and business leaders to translate questions into data solutions
- Use AI tools and agents to automate manual workflows and accelerate development
- Take end-to-end ownership of problems, from identification to shipping and improvement
What you'll need
- Hands-on experience building production data pipelines using Python and SQL
- Strong expertise in Snowflake, including data modeling, performance, and cost management
- Experience orchestrating pipelines with tools like Airflow, dbt, Fivetran, or Airbyte
- Proven experience building AI agents or LLM-powered workflows on company data
- Ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders and understand business models
- Impeccable spoken and written English for daily collaboration with US teams
- Comfort working in ambiguous, early-stage environments as a proactive builder
Nice to have
- Background in startups or previous founder/co-founder experience
- Familiarity with CI/CD, testing, and version control for data projects
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
