Ent is building an intent-aware workspace security platform that protects both human and AI-driven work. The team focuses on understanding user and agent behavior in real-time to intervene at the moment of risk.
As a Senior AI Engineer, you will bridge the gap between AI science and production engineering. You will optimize small, fast models for endpoint deployment and manage larger reasoning models in the cloud, ensuring they operate within strict latency and resource budgets.
What you'll do
- Translate research algorithms into production code, ensuring parity with original models
- Own model lifecycle post-launch, including retraining, monitoring, and evaluation
- Design evaluation gates to detect regressions and ensure model safety before shipping
- Build monitoring systems for model quality, drift detection, and ground-truth strategies
- Optimize inference for tight latency, memory, and power budgets on endpoints and cloud
- Create pipelines to sync behavioral baselines and context from cloud to endpoints
- Maintain simple infrastructure for training, datasets, and CI/CD for models
What you'll need
- Proven track record of designing and owning end-to-end systems
- Experience training, evaluating, and deploying custom models in production
- Ability to understand mathematical logic and implement it as tested production code
- Strong grasp of model evaluation, regression analysis, and release criteria
- Proficiency in Python and one systems language like C++, Java, Rust, or Go
- Comfortable defining problems and solving them in ambiguous environments
- Curiosity about the future of AI and security beyond immediate job duties
Nice to have
- Experience with edge inference tools like ONNX Runtime, llama.cpp, or TensorRT
- Background in building scalable data or inference pipelines with cost awareness
- Experience building infrastructure in startup environments without large platforms
- Proficiency using AI coding agents with strong judgment for output verification
- Knowledge of production LLM systems, agent harnesses, and probabilistic outputs
- Background in security fields such as endpoint detection, DLP, or behavioral analytics
Stack
- Python
- C++
- Java
- Rust
- Go
- ONNX Runtime
- llama.cpp
- Core ML
- TensorRT
- OpenVINO
How you'll work
- Distributed workplace with remote hiring across North America
- San Francisco office available but not required
- Flexible PTO policy for travel and recharge
- $500 home office stipend for remote employees
What you get
- Meaningful equity package for every teammate
- 90% coverage for medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 75% coverage for dependent health plans
- 14 weeks of fully paid parental leave
- $100 monthly lifestyle account for wellness and learning
