You will own the evaluation layer and core agent architectures for Hilbert’s reasoning engine, which helps enterprises make faster decisions. The work involves designing eval harnesses, building robust workflows with LangGraph, and ensuring system reliability in production environments.
What you'll do
- Design evaluation harnesses, metrics, and regression gates for multi-step agents
- Architect agent workflows including state memory, routing, and recovery paths
- Monitor production systems for latency, cost, and tracing issues
- Diagnose production failures like hallucinations and turn them into test cases
- Set technical standards for agent work and review team designs
- Collaborate with founders and partners to communicate technical tradeoffs
What you'll need
- 4+ years of production software engineering experience
- 2+ years building LLM or agentic systems shipped to real users
- Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent frameworks
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to take ownership and ship solutions in ambiguous environments
- Comfortable working at startup speed with evolving requirements
Nice to have
- Deep experience with RAG, hybrid retrieval, and embedding strategies
- Knowledge of observability tools like Langfuse or OpenTelemetry
- Experience with MCP, tool-calling frameworks, or structured output
- Background in early-stage startups or high-growth environments

How you'll work
