Join Supabase as the sole engineer responsible for building the platform that powers their internal AI agents. You will create an event-triggered, model-agnostic runtime with durable state, atomic rollback, and comprehensive logging. The focus is on making unsafe actions structurally impossible rather than just discouraged, ensuring trust through rigorous evaluation gates.
You will own the infrastructure end-to-end, from the compiler and validator to the distribution paths for context and capabilities. The goal is to build a system where agents handle operational loads across executive reporting and platform maintenance, with value measured by data rather than claims.
What you'll do
- Ship the agent platform including queue, runtime, durable state, and logging
- Own the evaluation layer with golden suites and CI gates for safety
- Build and register agents for reporting, triage, and platform improvement
- Enforce governance via code, risk tiers, and least-privilege credentials
- Design human contact systems with interruption budgets and message bundling
- Compute operating measures and instrument the platform's return on investment
What you'll need
- Shipped production LLM agent systems with real users and incident history
- Experience designing evaluations with behavioral assertions and judge rubrics
- Deep API work experience and authoring MCP servers
- End-to-end infrastructure ownership in Python on GCP
- Strong sense of how software interacts with humans respectfully
Nice to have
- Public work in open-source agent frameworks or evaluation harnesses
- Experience with LLM observability and cost instrumentation
- Built internal platforms adopted voluntarily by non-engineers
