You will bring deep solid-mechanics expertise to the design, training, and evaluation of AI Physics Models for real engineering use cases. Working at the intersection of industrial simulation and machine learning, you will ensure models meet rigorous engineering standards rather than just benchmark metrics.
This hands-on technical role involves defining simulation datasets, running high-fidelity campaigns, and collaborating with research and customer-facing teams. You will help solve nonlinear structural mechanics problems in automotive, aerospace, and consumer electronics sectors.
What you'll do
- Define and generate simulation datasets for training crashworthiness foundation models
- Design and run high-fidelity simulation campaigns using structural mechanics solvers
- Build automated pipelines for simulation setup, execution, and data processing
- Train and evaluate AI models on simulation data to diagnose failure modes
- Evaluate model outputs against industrial engineering needs and KPIs
- Collaborate with customers to define use cases and incorporate feedback
What you'll need
- Deep expertise in crashworthiness, solid mechanics, and structural mechanics
- Master’s degree or equivalent in mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering field
- 4+ years of industrial experience or PhD plus one year
- HANDS-on experience with explicit dynamics and nonlinear FEM
- Strong Python development skills with software engineering best practices
- Experience working in Linux and HPC environments for batch jobs
Nice to have
- Experience applying machine learning or surrogate modeling to simulation
- Contributions to open-source code or simulation automation frameworks
- Direct experience working with industrial customers or product teams
- Publications or patents in computational mechanics or ML-for-physics
