You will own the Android client experience for Actai, building a production application where AI interactions are central to the product. The work involves designing UX patterns for streaming responses and optimizing performance for AI-heavy flows.
The team aims to reduce hallucinations and bring intelligence to everyday workflows like email and calendar management. You will collaborate closely with backend and ML engineers to ensure app stability and scalability.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain production Android apps using Kotlin
- Integrate AI features like chat, vision, and voice via APIs
- Design UX patterns for streaming responses and retries
- Optimize memory usage and responsiveness for AI flows
- Implement analytics and logging for AI evaluation
- Collaborate with backend and ML engineers on API contracts
- Ensure app stability, security, and scalability
What you'll need
- 3+ years of Android development experience with Kotlin
- Experience integrating AI features such as LLMs or speech APIs
- Strong understanding of Coroutines and Flow
- Familiarity with REST or gRPC APIs and structured data
- Strong debugging and performance profiling skills
- Comfort with latency, partial failure, and non-deterministic behavior
- Experience with MLKit or light on-device inference
- Published production apps on the Google Play Store
