Join BJAK, a leading mobile-first insurance platform in Southeast Asia, as an Android Software Engineer. You will build native Android experiences that help users plan, save, and manage their money through clean, fast, and reliable mobile flows.
The team focuses on simplifying complex financial journeys, including insurance claims, payments, and investments. You will collaborate with product and design teams to ship features that impact millions of users in the region.
What you'll do
- Build and ship Android features using Kotlin for insurance and financial services
- Create clean mobile flows for payments, claims, renewals, and investing
- Collaborate with product and design to simplify complex user journeys
- Integrate backend APIs ensuring stability, security, and reliability
- Optimize app performance, crash rates, loading states, and memory usage
- Use analytics and production data to drive product improvements
- Implement AI-assisted features where they genuinely enhance user experience
What you'll need
- 3+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin
- Strong fundamentals in Android and experience shipping production apps
- Proficiency with Jetpack, Coroutines, Flow, and modern architecture
- Solid understanding of mobile UX, usability, and edge cases
- Experience integrating REST APIs and debugging production issues
- Ability to execute quickly with high ownership and attention to quality
- Strong English communication skills for global team collaboration
Nice to have
- Portfolio with app links, GitHub repos, or screenshots of shipped work
- Experience with TensorFlow Lite for on-device inference
