BJAK is a leading insurance and financial platform in Southeast Asia, expanding into spending, saving, and investing. We are seeking backend engineers to construct the reliable infrastructure behind our AI Neobank application.
You will build services that handle real customer transactions, operational workflows, and future financial products. The team values practical trade-offs between speed, correctness, and scalability while maintaining high security and data integrity standards.
What you'll do
- Build backend services and APIs for onboarding, payments, cards, and FX flows
- Design reliable systems supporting real customer transactions and operational workflows
- Integrate with internal systems, payment providers, AI services, and third-party platforms
- Ensure backend quality regarding reliability, security, latency, and data integrity
- Collaborate with product, frontend, mobile, and AI teams to launch features safely
- Simplify existing flows and automate repeatable processes to improve system efficiency
What you'll need
- Strong backend engineering experience with production systems at meaningful scale
- Solid understanding of APIs, databases, authentication, queues, and event integrations
- Proven ability to debug issues with a focus on reliability and security
- Capacity to make practical trade-offs between speed, correctness, and maintainability
- Experience handling production systems with real customers or internal operations
- Strong English communication skills for collaboration across global teams
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or digital wallets
- Background in KYC, fraud detection, or risk management systems
