BJAK is expanding its financial services beyond insurance into spending, saving, and investing. You will build the backend infrastructure for their AI-driven Neobank, handling high-volume transactions and complex financial workflows.
The team operates globally with a strong focus on reliability and security. This role requires engineers who can balance speed with correctness while integrating with various financial partners and internal AI services.
What you'll do
- Build backend services for payments, cards, FX, KYC, and risk flows
- Design reliable systems for real customer transactions and operations
- Integrate with payment providers, financial partners, and AI services
- Ensure backend quality regarding security, latency, and data integrity
- Collaborate with product and mobile teams to launch features safely
- Automate repeatable processes and simplify existing system flows
What you'll need
- Strong experience building production backend systems at scale
- Deep understanding of APIs, databases, auth, queues, and events
- Proven track record debugging and maintaining reliable services
- Ability to balance speed, scalability, and maintainability
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
- Must be currently based in Hong Kong
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or digital wallets
- Background in KYC, fraud detection, or risk management systems
