BJAK is expanding its financial services beyond insurance into spending, saving, and investing across Southeast Asia. This role involves building the backend infrastructure for their AI-driven Neobank application, supporting millions of users and complex financial workflows.
You will design reliable systems for payments, accounts, and risk management while integrating with various financial partners and internal AI services. The team values engineers who prioritize security, data integrity, and operational excellence in production environments.
What you'll do
- Build backend services and APIs for payments, accounts, cards, and KYC flows
- Design scalable systems for real-time customer transactions and operational workflows
- Integrate with financial partners, payment providers, and third-party platforms
- Ensure backend quality regarding security, latency, observability, and data integrity
- Collaborate with product, mobile, and AI teams to launch features safely
- Automate repeatable processes and simplify existing system flows
What you'll need
- Strong experience building production backend systems at scale
- Deep understanding of APIs, databases, authentication, and event queues
- Proven track record of debugging and maintaining reliable, secure services
- Ability to balance speed, correctness, scalability, and maintainability
- Strong English communication skills for global team collaboration
- Must be currently based in the United States
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or digital wallets
- Knowledge of KYC, fraud detection, or risk management systems
- History of scaling serious products or platforms personally
