Join BJAK as a Backend Engineer to develop the infrastructure behind their AI-driven neobanking platform. You will build reliable APIs and workflows that support payments, accounts, and other financial products across Southeast Asia.
The team focuses on creating scalable systems that handle real customer transactions and integrate with various financial partners. You will collaborate with product, mobile, and AI teams to launch features safely and efficiently.
What you'll do
- Build backend services and APIs for onboarding, payments, cards, and FX flows
- Design reliable systems for real customer transactions and operational workflows
- Integrate with internal systems, payment providers, and AI services
- Ensure backend quality regarding security, latency, and data integrity
- Collaborate with product and frontend teams to launch features quickly
- Improve existing systems by automating processes and simplifying flows
What you'll need
- Strong backend engineering experience in production systems
- Solid understanding of APIs, databases, authentication, and queues
- Experience building services at meaningful scale for real customers
- Strong mindset for debugging, reliability, security, and data quality
- Ability to balance speed, correctness, scalability, and maintainability
- Based in Spain with strong English communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or wallet systems
- Knowledge of KYC, fraud detection, or risk management flows
