BJAK is expanding its financial services beyond insurance into spending, saving, and investing. As a Backend Engineer, you will build the core systems for their AI Neobank app, creating reliable APIs and workflows that support millions of users across various markets.
What you'll do
- Build backend services and APIs for onboarding, payments, cards, and risk flows
- Design reliable systems for real customer transactions and operational workflows
- Integrate with internal systems, payment providers, and AI services
- Ensure backend quality regarding security, latency, and data integrity
- Collaborate with product and mobile teams to launch features safely
- Automate repeatable processes and simplify existing system flows
What you'll need
- Strong backend engineering experience in production systems
- Solid understanding of APIs, databases, auth, queues, and events
- Experience building services at meaningful scale for real customers
- Strong mindset for debugging, reliability, security, and data quality
- Ability to balance speed, correctness, scalability, and maintainability
- Based in Ireland with strong English communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or wallet systems
- Knowledge of KYC, fraud detection, or risk management flows
