Join Fathom's engineering team to improve the performance of mission-critical services that power their AI call summarization tool. You will work on scaling stateless and stateful services, optimizing costs, and developing new infrastructure components like Kubernetes operators.
What you'll do
- Improve reliability and efficiency of existing scalable services
- Analyze runtime and cost metrics to identify optimization areas
- Develop new services such as Kubernetes operators or caching layers
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to enhance application scalability
- Harden and productize internal or external libraries
What you'll need
- Proficiency with Rails or similar full-stack frameworks
- Strong knowledge of ActiveRecord, schema design, and query optimization
- Experience with Kubernetes and Go or another systems language
- Understanding of garbage collection and profiling techniques
- Familiarity with GCP, Linux, Docker, Redis, and ffmpeg
- Background in high-scale SaaS or PaaS environments
Nice to have
- Experience with Cgo
- Knowledge of video streaming at scale
