Join the Billing team at Solidgate to develop Billing v2, a global expansion of subscription infrastructure built practically from scratch. You will design foundational domain models and public APIs while ensuring bulletproof platform uptime for clients like Bolt and J.P. Morgan.
The team operates with a modern engineering culture that prioritizes automated testing over manual QA. You will work alongside senior engineers and domain analysts to deliver high-load systems that handle invoicing cycles and payment retries.
What you'll do
- Design and ship foundational Products and Prices domain models and public APIs
- Build high-precision volume and graduated pricing engines for enterprise billing
- Decouple critical services from the Products API to eliminate single points of failure
- Lead the automated retry engine across all invoices to recover failed payments
- Implement unit, integration, functional, and end-to-end tests for safe scaling
What you'll need
- At least two years of backend engineering experience
- Proficiency in Go, PHP, Kotlin, Java, Python, or Node.js
- Experience covering code with unit, integration, functional, and e2e tests
- Strong understanding of high-load system design principles
- Experience working with PostgreSQL and queues or streams
- Proactive, communicative, independent, and result-oriented mindset
Nice to have
- Experience with payment systems or in fintech and financial services
- Knowledge of Kafka
- Familiarity with AWS services
- Experience setting up or maintaining CI/CD pipelines
