Join Air Apps as a Backend Software Engineer to design and maintain scalable services for an AI-driven personal and entrepreneurial resource planner. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust backend solutions that support rapid global growth.
This position is based entirely at the Lisbon office, where you will work in person with colleagues. The company supports relocation efforts for candidates moving to Portugal.
What you'll do
- Design and build RESTful or GraphQL APIs using Node.js and TypeScript
- Model data and manage queries with Supabase and PostgreSQL
- Deploy and manage services on Google Cloud Platform including Cloud Run
- Write clean, testable code and contribute to code reviews
- Implement secure solutions for authentication and data protection
- Set up logging, monitoring, and alerting for backend services
- Participate in architecture discussions and mentor team members
What you'll need
- 5+ years of experience in backend engineering roles
- Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript
- Strong experience with Supabase or PostgreSQL-based backends
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure
- Solid knowledge of Clean Code and Clean Architecture practices
- Experience with API design and cloud-native application development
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, testing tools, and Git workflows
- Strong grasp of security principles and compliance best practices
