BJAK is expanding its mobile-first insurance platform into a broader financial ecosystem, including an AI-powered neobank. This role focuses on constructing the core backend systems, APIs, and workflows that support millions of users across insurance, payments, and investment products.
You will collaborate with product and mobile teams to deliver reliable, secure, and auditable financial services. The team values engineers who prioritize production stability, security, and practical system design over theoretical scale.
What you'll do
- Build backend services, APIs, and workflows for the AI Neobank application
- Design systems for user accounts, transactions, reconciliation, and notifications
- Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, and data providers
- Support products across insurance, payments, wallet, savings, and investing
- Improve system reliability, observability, security, and performance
- Ensure systems are auditable and compliant with financial regulations
- Collaborate with product and mobile teams to ship customer-facing features
What you'll need
- At least 3 years of backend engineering experience
- Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, and system design
- Experience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems
- Solid understanding of security, reliability, and data quality
- Ability to balance speed, quality, and risk in decision making
- Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Strong English communication skills for global team interaction
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, payments, insurance, or banking sectors
- Background in building regulated financial products
- Proven track record handling production systems at scale
