BJAK is expanding its mobile-first insurance platform into a broader financial ecosystem, including spending, saving, and investing. As a Backend Software Engineer, you will build the core systems for the AI Finance Agent, creating reliable APIs and workflows that serve millions of users across multiple markets.
What you'll do
- Build backend services, APIs, and workflows for the AI Neobank app
- Design systems for user accounts, transactions, and partner integrations
- Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, and data providers
- Improve system reliability, observability, security, and performance
- Collaborate with product and mobile teams to ship customer journeys
- Ensure systems are auditable and compliant with financial regulations
What you'll need
- At least 3 years of backend engineering experience
- Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, and system design
- Experience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems
- Good understanding of security, reliability, and data quality
- Ability to balance speed, quality, and risk in decision making
- Strong English communication skills for global team collaboration
- Must be currently based in Hong Kong
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, payments, or insurance sectors
- Background in lending, banking, or regulated products
- Track record of handling production systems at scale
