BJAK is expanding its financial services beyond insurance to include spending, saving, and investing. This role focuses on building the backend infrastructure for their AI Neobank app, supporting millions of users across Southeast Asia.
You will collaborate with product and mobile teams to deliver reliable, secure, and auditable systems for regulated financial products. The team values practical engineering that handles real-world edge cases and operational risks.
What you'll do
- Build backend services, APIs, and workflows for the AI Neobank application
- Design systems for user accounts, transactions, and partner integrations
- Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, and data providers
- Improve system reliability, observability, security, and performance
- Support products across insurance, payments, wallet, and investing
- Ensure systems are auditable and compliant with financial regulations
What you'll need
- At least 3 years of backend engineering experience
- Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, and system design
- Experience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems
- Good understanding of security, reliability, and data quality
- Ability to make practical trade-offs between speed, quality, and risk
- Strong English communication skills for global team collaboration
- Must be currently based in the Philippines
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, payments, insurance, or banking
- Background in building regulated financial products
- Experience with lending or exchanging services
