BJAK is expanding beyond insurance to help users manage spending, saving, and investing through an AI-driven neobank app. This role focuses on building the backend services, workflows, and reliable infrastructure needed to support millions of users across various financial products.
You will collaborate with product and mobile teams to ship customer-facing features quickly while ensuring system security, observability, and compliance with financial regulations.
What you'll do
- Build backend services, APIs, and workflows for the AI Neobank application
- Design reliable systems for user accounts, transactions, and reconciliations
- Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, and data providers
- Support products across insurance, payments, wallet, and investing
- Improve system reliability, observability, security, and performance
- Ensure systems are auditable and ready for regulated financial products
What you'll need
- At least 3 years of backend engineering experience
- Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, and system design
- Experience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems
- Good understanding of security, reliability, and data quality
- Ability to make practical trade-offs between speed, quality, and risk
- Comfortable collaborating with product, mobile, and business teams
- Strong English communication skills for global team interaction
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, payments, insurance, or banking
- Background with regulated financial products
- Experience handling production systems at scale
