BJAK is expanding its financial services beyond insurance to include spending, saving, and investing. As a Backend Engineer, you will build the core systems for their AI Neobank app, creating reliable workflows that scale across millions of users and multiple markets.
What you'll do
- Build backend services and APIs for the AI Neobank application
- Design systems for accounts, transactions, and partner integrations
- Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, and data providers
- Collaborate with product and mobile teams to ship customer journeys
- Improve system reliability, observability, security, and performance
- Ensure systems are auditable and compliant with financial regulations
What you'll need
- At least 3 years of backend engineering experience
- Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, and system design
- Experience building scalable services and third-party integrations
- Solid understanding of security, reliability, and data quality
- Ability to balance speed, quality, and risk in decision making
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
- Must be currently based in Spain
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, payments, or insurance sectors
- Background in lending, banking, or regulated products
- Track record of handling production systems at scale
