Join the Engine Team at Deepgram to lead the design and implementation of their Voice Agent product. You will build secure, robust, and scalable services that power real-time speech-to-text and text-to-speech capabilities for thousands of organizations.
The work focuses on core inference services, networking, and integrating diverse AI models. You will partner with Product teams to deliver high-impact features from start to finish in a fast-paced, AI-first environment.
What you'll do
- Improve core inference services including networking and observability
- Develop integrations with third-party and open-source AI models
- Debug complex system issues involving concurrency and scheduling
- Customize backend services rapidly to support customer needs
- Partner with Product to design and implement new features end to end
What you'll need
- 3+ years of experience in an industry software role
- Programming experience in Rust, C, or C++
- Competence in Python programming
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of experience with version control, preferably git
- Comprehensive experience with UNIX-style systems
Nice to have
- Experience with low-latency multi-model orchestration
- Background in audio processing technologies
