Join the team developing an AI-first platform that helps users create websites and web apps. You will design and develop backend systems and APIs, taking ownership of features from concept to deployment while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
This position offers high autonomy and mentorship opportunities, allowing you to grow from mid-level to senior engineer while working on scalable solutions for millions of clients worldwide.
What you'll do
- Design and develop backend systems and APIs using Node.js
- Own backend features and services end-to-end
- Optimize API performance, database queries, and system scalability
- Integrate third-party APIs and implement data storage solutions
- Write tested, documented, and scalable code
- Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and engineers
- Participate in architectural decisions with guidance from senior staff
What you'll need
- 2+ years of experience with Node.js and TypeScript in production
- Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL databases
- Solid understanding of building and shipping REST APIs
- Experience with message queues like RabbitMQ, BullMQ, or GCP PubSub
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana
- Experience with unit and integration testing using Jest or Mocha
- Proficiency with SQL, ORMs like Sequelize or Prisma, and Redis
- Strong Git proficiency and collaborative version control skills
- Self-starter mentality with strong communication skills
Nice to have
- Exposure to microservices architecture
- Experience with performance monitoring and optimization
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with AI tools and LLM providers
- Terraform experience
