Foundry is a division within Instructure dedicated to creating new revenue streams through AI-built products. As a Builder, you join a two-person pod where you own the technical execution while the Founder defines the business bet. Your primary goal is to validate that AI-generated code is secure, scalable, and ready for production.
You will work hands-on every day, leveraging shared platforms to avoid rebuilding infrastructure. The environment moves at pilot speed initially, then hardens for general availability. Success is measured by revenue impact rather than activity metrics, requiring strong judgment on what to ship and what to refine.
What you'll do
- Own architectural integrity and stand behind shipped products
- Ensure code quality, security, and scalability of AI-generated code
- Build hands-on using Git and AI development tooling
- Direct and verify large volumes of code rather than writing it all
- Decide what is safe to ship versus what needs further review
- Provide context to the shared system for team alignment
- Partner with a non-technical Founder to translate product intent
What you'll need
- Proven experience shipping reliable and secure production software
- Senior engineering judgment for directing AI output at high volume
- Fluency or fast-developing fluency with AI-assisted development
- Ability to own security and scale without a dedicated platform team
- Product mindset focused on customer value over mere compilation
- Instinct to balance pilot speed with long-term stability
