We are seeking an independent Application Engineer to lead programming efforts for medium to large building automation projects. You will configure control systems, resolve technical discrepancies, and ensure high-quality delivery according to specifications and schedules.
The role requires close collaboration with customers, contractors, and internal teams to commission DDC systems. You will create front-end graphics, perform system diagnostics, and provide technical support to enhance system performance and efficiency.
What you'll do
- Lead programming for medium to large automation projects
- Configure and customize control systems for specific needs
- Create software programs and front-end graphics
- Commission systems and troubleshoot during start-up
- Resolve discrepancies in submittals and contract drawings
- Coordinate customer training and closeout documentation
- Provide technical support to end-users and employees
What you'll need
- 2-4 years of experience in a similar role
- Proficiency with Tridium Niagara or similar BAS platforms
- Strong knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and LON networks
- Ability to configure switches, routers, and firewalls on BAS LAN
- Working knowledge of IP networking basics
- Clear communication skills with customers and contractors
- Ability to work independently with third-party vendors
