As a Charge Capture Specialist, you will serve as a strategic resource for improving the accuracy and efficiency of the revenue cycle. You will analyze complex workflows, identify revenue leakage, and implement standardized processes to ensure precise charge entry and financial reconciliation.
What you'll do
- Analyze charge capture workflows using error trends and reconciliation reports
- Design and implement standardized workflows to improve accuracy and timeliness
- Validate and reconcile department charges by reviewing medical records
- Identify opportunities for automation and standardization to reduce errors
- Partner with Health Information Management and Financial Services teams
- Educate staff and develop resources to simplify complex processes
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or health-related field preferred
- Minimum of 2-5 years of financial experience required
- Experience in charge capture, chart review, and chart auditing
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential
- Ability to analyze complex workflows and translate findings into solutions
- Effective communication skills with clinical and operational leaders
Nice to have
- RHIA, RHIT, CSS, or CPC certification
- Understanding of revenue integrity within an Epic environment
