Join Solvd Inc. as a Cloud Engineer supporting an enterprise payments platform. You will lead the migration of legacy Infrastructure as Code from Ruby-based CloudFormation to TypeScript using AWS CDK. This position requires blending deep AWS expertise with software engineering fundamentals to design secure, scalable environments.
What you'll do
- Migrate existing CloudFormation IaC to TypeScript using AWS CDK
- Establish IaC patterns, module structures, and testing strategies
- Build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions for automated validation
- Design scalable and secure AWS architectures based on client needs
- Plan and facilitate gameday exercises and fault injection experiments
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and validate designs
- Mentor team members and develop reusable assets and documentation
What you'll need
- At least 5 years of experience in cloud architecture and implementation
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, including typing and testing with Jest
- Hands-on experience with IaC at scale using CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
Nice to have
- Experience migrating legacy IaC from CloudFormation to CDK or Terraform
- Advanced TypeScript skills such as authoring reusable CDK constructs
- Hands-on experience with EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, and VPC
- Familiarity with multi-region architectures and failover mechanics
- Experience with chaos engineering using AWS Fault Injection Service
- AWS Professional certifications like Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer
- Understanding of PCI-DSS and security in regulated environments
