Join webAI to develop an end-to-end platform that enables private, large-scale AI deployment on consumer hardware. You will design synchronization frameworks for trustless environments, ensuring data remains local and secure without relying on central servers.
This position targets engineers with deep experience in CRDTs and decentralized networking. You will architect robust systems using content-addressable storage and Merkle trees, optimizing performance for intermittent connectivity and resource-constrained edge devices.
What you'll do
- Design advanced synchronization and networking systems for heterogeneous environments
- Architect data frameworks using content addressable storage, Merkle trees, and CRDTs
- Tune performance and debug distributed software under intermittent connectivity
- Implement security-first designs with threat modeling and cryptographic primitives
- Collaborate with MLOps and Security teams to deploy AI in air-gapped systems
- Contribute to architectural discussions and maintain rigorous testing practices
What you'll need
- Proven experience working with Conflict-free Replicated Data Types (CRDTs)
- Background in peer-to-peer or decentralized networking frameworks
- Understanding of trustless environments distinct from traditional distributed systems
- Willingness to develop primarily in Rust, with support for learning the language
Nice to have
- Experience with technologies similar to IPFS or torrents rather than blockchain
- Knowledge of distributed hash tables, gossip protocols, DAGs, or NAT traversal
