As a Cybersecurity Advisor I, you will serve as a trusted consultant for small to medium-sized clients, helping them mature their security posture over long-term engagements. You will translate technical risks into business language, develop prioritized roadmaps, and partner with senior advisors to ensure governance alignment with frameworks like NIST and ISO 27001.
What you'll do
- Define and advance cybersecurity strategy for clients across multi-year engagements
- Develop business-aware security roadmaps to mature client security posture
- Partner with senior advisors on governance, risk, and compliance programs
- Translate technical risk findings into clear language for executive audiences
- Support incident readiness exercises and post-incident program improvements
- Collaborate with engineers to validate remediation and ground recommendations
What you'll need
- Experience in SOC management, cybersecurity engineering, or security assessments
- Deep knowledge of frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001
- Ability to communicate security strategy effectively to executive stakeholders
- Understanding of security architecture and risk in cloud and on-premises environments
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for building client trust
Nice to have
- Senior certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or CISA
- Prior experience as a vCISO, security manager, or security architect
- Familiarity with cloud security across Azure, AWS, GCP, and M365
- Background in regulated industries or the public sector
