Horizontal is looking for a Principal Data Engineer to lead the modernization of its enterprise data platform. You will reverse-engineer complex existing solutions and migrate validated workloads from Azure Synapse Analytics to a Databricks lakehouse environment.
The team focuses on maintaining business-critical data accuracy during transition, strengthening governance frameworks, and eliminating technical debt through robust re-engineering practices.
What you'll do
- Assess and re-engineer data components across ingestion, transformation, and storage layers
- Review pipeline logic and governance controls to identify technical debt
- Validate end-to-end processing including CDC and reconciliation routines
