  • Senior level

Join the Data Team at Block Labs to design the backbone of their multi-tenant platform. You will own end-to-end real-time pipelines, serving data across a unified analytical warehouse and feature-serving layer to support predictive modeling and real-time decisioning.

This position focuses on engineering scalable infrastructure rather than building dashboards. You will ensure the system scales from one operator to many with minimal infrastructure cost, collaborating with AI, BI, and infrastructure teams.

What you'll do

  • Design and maintain scalable data pipelines using AWS Glue or equivalent tools.
  • Optimize ClickHouse warehouse for sub-second query performance across back-offices.
  • Implement data contracts to allow new operator onboarding via configuration changes.
  • Build feature-serving layers providing pre-computed features to AI agents at low latency.
  • Integrate third-party databases, back-office APIs, and external systems like CRMs.
  • Establish monitoring, alerting, and maintenance procedures for pipeline health.
  • Own CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code for data workloads.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to translate requirements into pipelines.

What you'll need

  • 3+ years building production data pipelines at scale with streaming and batch experience.
  • Expertise in Apache Kafka or Amazon MSK, including topic design and troubleshooting.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with columnar databases like ClickHouse.
  • Proficiency in PySpark or Spark Streaming for transforming event streams.
  • Ability to design normalized, multi-tenant schemas with strict tenant isolation.
  • Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Mindset for data quality, observability, and automated validation.

Nice to have

  • Experience in iGaming, online casino, poker, or sportsbook platforms.
  • Exposure to blockchain transaction flows or crypto-native accounting.
  • Comfort operating in AWS-native environments like MSK, Glue, and ECS.
  • Feature store experience with tools like SageMaker, Feast, or Tecton.
  • Prior work in regulated industries such as fintech or financial services.
  • Experience migrating legacy query engines to modern analytical warehouses.

Stack

  • AWS Glue
  • PySpark
  • ClickHouse
  • Apache Kafka
  • Amazon MSK

How you'll work

  • Fully remote with asynchronous-first communication.
  • EU time zone overlap is preferred.
  • Small, high-autonomy team within the Data function.
  • On-call rotation established during the run phase.
