Join BJAK, the leading mobile-first insurance platform in Southeast Asia, as a Data Privacy Security Engineer. You will partner with engineering, legal, and compliance teams to secure sensitive data across products and third-party services.
Your work will focus on reducing risks through privacy-by-design principles, managing data flows, and ensuring compliance with regional regulatory frameworks while supporting the company's mission to help people manage their finances.
What you'll do
- Protect sensitive data throughout its lifecycle from collection to deletion
- Map data flows and assess privacy risks across applications and integrations
- Implement encryption, tokenization, masking, and least-privilege access controls
- Secure data pipelines, databases, and cloud services on AWS and GCP
- Assess data shared with third-party AI vendors and define usage controls
- Own data controls for SC TRM and BNM RMiT compliance and audit support
- Support privacy impact assessments, incident response, and design reviews
What you'll need
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
- 3+ years in data security, privacy engineering, or data platform engineering
- Experience owning SC TRM and BNM RMiT controls for data protection
- Strong understanding of privacy-by-design and data classification
- Knowledge of encryption, key management, and anonymization techniques
- Experience securing databases and data platforms on AWS or GCP
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration

- Familiarity with AI vendor data flows and associated risks
- Experience collaborating across technical and compliance teams
