Join the SightlineEnterprise Research and Detection team at HUMAN to protect the internet by disrupting cybercrime economics. You will research and develop algorithms that detect bots and fight fraud using statistical and machine learning techniques across offline and real-time systems.
The role covers the full lifecycle of fraud prevention, from gathering business requirements and exploratory research to deploying statistical detection techniques in production. You will work at the intersection of data, technology, and business to understand attack schemes and build products that secure customer interactions.
What you'll do
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Analysts to improve bot detection and optimize ML infrastructure
- Research and experiment with latest detection frameworks, statistical techniques, and ML tooling
- Support the growth of best practices and Data Science standards in detection and modeling
- Review peer work before launching new detection rules and monitor system anomalies
- Participate in tech-debt days to maintain codebase health and quality
- Develop software tooling and automation to accelerate fraud detection capabilities
What you'll need
- Experience solving large-scale, data-intensive problems in production systems
- Fluency in Python and SQL with familiarity in related tools and libraries
- Strong understanding of Object Oriented development and debugging skills
- Ability to explain statistical modeling nuances and make informed technical decisions
- Engineering awareness regarding shipping working code to customers
- Experience with SDLC best practices including version control, unit testing, and CI/CD
- Proven ability to work on cross-functional projects with technical and non-technical stakeholders
