You will own the health of databases across all business divisions, closing the gap in enterprise-wide database ownership. Working with engineering teams, you will improve reliability, security, and performance while reducing troubleshooting time for developers.
What you'll do
- Design, monitor, and optimize databases for all products across three divisions
- Plan and maintain backup, disaster-recovery, and storage structures
- Proactively tune systems to prevent performance and security issues
- Establish consistent database standards and documentation practices
- Manage patching, capacity planning, and access controls
- Partner with engineering teams to reduce database troubleshooting time
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Four or more years administering production databases
- Experience with on-call support responsibilities
- Hands-on experience with MySQL, Postgres, or Microsoft SQL Server
Nice to have
- Experience administering multiple relational database platforms
- Relevant certifications such as Azure Database Administrator Associate
