LiveKit is building the infrastructure for voice-driven computing, powering applications for companies like OpenAI and Spotify. As a Design Engineer, you will bridge the gap between design and engineering by creating the components, motion systems, and tooling that bring the new brand identity to life. You will own the craft of the marketing site, ensuring it meets high standards for performance and interaction without slowing down the team.
What you'll do
- Own the technical craft of livekit.com, focusing on motion, interaction, and performance
- Engineer the new brand identity into reusable components, motion patterns, and tooling
- Build launch pages, product pages, and campaign surfaces that maintain high quality
- Treat performance as a core feature, defending speed budgets with real metrics
- Partner daily with designers and marketers to turn ambitious ideas into shipped web products
What you'll need
- Exceptional front-end engineering skills with a strong portfolio of production web work
- Deep expertise in motion, interaction details, and web performance optimization
- Ability to translate brand and design intent into reusable systems and components
- Self-directed workflow capable of shipping polished work without perfect specifications
- Strong collaboration skills to elevate designer ideas rather than simplifying them
Nice to have
- Experience at developer-tools, API, or infrastructure companies
- Proficiency in WebGL, shaders, or creative coding
- Previous contributions to design systems, including tokens and documentation
- Experience optimizing rich sites to pass Core Web Vitals
- Keen interest in studying and analyzing web interactions from other sites
