Join Braintrust as a Developer Support Engineer to help customers overcome technical blockers while using our agent observability platform. You will diagnose issues in Python or TypeScript codebases, reproduce bugs, and work closely with Engineering and Product teams to improve the developer experience.
This role requires strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly. You will own support communications, maintain knowledge base documentation, and contribute to internal tooling to streamline support processes.
What you'll do
- Diagnose and resolve API and SDK issues in customer codebases
- Reproduce reported bugs and collaborate with Engineering on fixes
- Manage support communications via Slack and email with empathy
- Write and maintain knowledge base documentation for developers
- Identify opportunities to improve tools and support workflows
- Write scripts and fix bugs in internal support tooling
- Relay customer feedback to Product and Engineering teams
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical customer issues
- Mentor peers and guide support escalation processes
What you'll need
- Experience in customer-facing technical roles like Support Engineer
- Ability to write, debug, and reason through Python or TypeScript
- Comfortable learning APIs, SDKs, and developer tools quickly
- Take ownership of technical problems until customers are unblocked
- Communicate complex technical issues clearly and empathetically
- Curious about LLM use cases and AI reliability tools
Nice to have
- Experience with developer tools, ML infrastructure, or observability
- Familiarity with OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar LLM APIs
- Comfort with datasets, evaluation metrics, or prompt engineering
- Experience contributing to support tooling or documentation
- Background as a senior technical member in high-growth environments
- Submitted PRs to fix issues in backend services or SDKs
- Cloud certifications or experience with Terraform and Kubernetes
