As the Director of Decision Science, you will own the function’s strategy, standards, and personnel. You will hire and coach a team of decision scientists while remaining hands-on enough to review models and test designs. Your work will directly influence product development, pricing strategies, and operational efficiency by providing clear, data-backed recommendations to senior leaders.
What you'll do
- Hire, onboard, and develop a team of decision scientists and analysts
- Define the strategic roadmap and success metrics for the function
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to solve complex business problems
- Direct development of predictive, prescriptive, and causal models
- Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership
- Promote data literacy across the organization
- Ensure ethical and privacy-compliant data usage practices
What you'll need
- 10+ years in data science, analytics, or decision science
- At least 3 years of experience managing and developing teams
- Proven track record of driving measurable business results
- Deep expertise in experimental design and causal inference
- Strong SQL skills and fluency in Python or R
- Experience with modern data platforms like Snowflake or Databricks
- Master's or PhD in a quantitative field or equivalent experience
Nice to have
- Experience in education technology or B2B SaaS
- Familiarity with subscription and product-led growth metrics
- Background building analytics functions from early stages
