You will lead the transition from traditional IT administration to a platform and data engineering-centric organization. Your team will build foundational systems and data products that drive business decisions, leveraging AI-driven and headless architectures.
The role involves owning the technical roadmap for business systems, enterprise data, and integrations. You will manage engineering managers and individual contributors, ensuring robust security, governance, and operational standards across the BADaS organization.
What you'll do
- Lead the shift from IT-admin focus to platform and data engineering
- Own technical architecture and delivery roadmap for business systems
- Manage and mentor engineering managers and direct reports
- Establish engineering standards, workflows, and AI-leveraging practices
- Partner with Product and Success teams to prioritize technical scope
- Act as technical counterpart to vendors and review architecture proposals
- Ensure security, RBAC, and data governance compliance for platforms
What you'll need
- 8+ years in software, platform, or data engineering
- 4+ years managing engineers and engineering managers
- Experience building succession depth in multi-manager organizations
- Strong grasp of CI/CD, code review, and testing disciplines
- Fluency in server-side JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js
- Deep experience with REST/GraphQL APIs, OAuth, and JWT
- Knowledge of SQL, Python, dbt, and ETL pipeline orchestration
- Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code
Nice to have
- Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and AI agents
- Hands-on work with graph theory and databases
- Track record managing vendors on complex platform builds
- Architectural experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, or Marketo
