Vultr is expanding its global cloud infrastructure and needs an experienced leader to own construction delivery across its portfolio. You will manage general contractor performance, negotiate contracts, and oversee full project lifecycles from entitlement to certificate of occupancy. The role reports directly to the VP of Development & Construction and involves significant interaction with executive leadership regarding construction risk.
What you'll do
- Set portfolio-level construction strategy and manage delivery risk
- Manage general contractor and landlord relationships on leased sites
- Negotiate contracts and select general contractors for owned sites
- Own tenant fit-out schedules for leased locations
- Manage full entitlement-to-certificate-of-occupancy for owned sites
- Oversee Regional Construction Managers and Startup/Turnover Manager
- Direct design teams including architects and engineers
- Coordinate site development with Civil Engineering and Energy teams
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
- 12+ years of leadership in mission-critical or data center construction
- Experience as owner's representative or in ground-up development
- Proven track record managing budgets exceeding $25 million
- Ability to represent construction risk to executive leadership
- Willingness to travel frequently to active site portfolios
Nice to have
- PMP or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
- Experience with hyperscaler or colocation build programs
- Background in ground-up data center development as principal
- Experience managing capital partner or JV stakeholder relationships
