As the first dedicated IT hire, you will establish the central IT function for Emergence and its portfolio companies. You will collaborate with a fractional security advisor and a managed service provider to centralize leverage while respecting existing successful practices.
The position focuses on creating integration playbooks, managing identity platforms, and overseeing vendor contracts. You will ensure seamless IT workstreams during acquisitions and maintain comprehensive inventories of tools and access credentials.
What you'll do
- Lead IT workstreams for acquisitions, including stack inventory and system integration
- Develop and execute a Day 1-100 integration playbook for new companies
- Standardize joiner, mover, and leaver processes across the portfolio
- Operate the selected identity platform and manage lifecycle workflows
- Maintain a living inventory of tools, accounts, licenses, and renewal dates
- Manage MSP relationships and ensure SLA compliance for portfolio companies
- Oversee vendor contracts, renewals, and license consolidation efforts
What you'll need
- 6-10 years in IT operations, systems administration, or MSP delivery
- At least 3 years of experience in an IT leadership role
- Proven track record running IT across multiple companies or business units
- Experience owning IT workstreams for acquisitions and due diligence
- Deep understanding of centralized versus decentralized IT delivery tradeoffs
- Fluency in identity and access operations such as SSO and provisioning
- Ability to map existing systems in environments with no documentation
- Strong skills in vendor management, contract negotiation, and SLAs
Nice to have
- Prior experience in a private equity portfolio or holding company
- Administrative depth in both Google Workspace and Microsoft 365
- Background in regulated sectors like healthcare, finance, or defence
