This position pairs experienced engineering directors and VPs with members seeking career guidance. You will help them define goals, improve communication, and navigate workplace issues through virtual sessions. The role requires completing Mento’s ICF-certified training program before working with clients.
What you'll do
- Conduct 1:1 coaching sessions with members via the Mento platform
- Communicate with members between sessions through email or chat
- Participate in ongoing training to refine coaching skills
- Share insights and tools to enhance community coaching practices
- Act as an empathetic ambassador for the Mento community
What you'll need
- 15+ years of experience managing engineering teams
- Current or former Director/VP level in software engineering
- Experience leading teams through hypergrowth or organizational change
- Ability to dedicate minimum 12 hours per month for 24+ months
- Willingness to complete ICF-certified coach training program
- High emotional intelligence and self-awareness
Nice to have
- Background in AI/ML, infrastructure, or security engineering
- Experience at US-headquartered global technology companies
- Prior professional coaching certifications
How you'll work
- Fully remote position
- Candidates must be based in North America or Europe
- Contract role paid per hour with performance bonuses
- Minimum commitment of 3-5 hours per week
- Minimum engagement period of 24 months
