This role pairs experienced engineering directors and VPs with researchers to help them achieve professional goals and improve leadership skills. You will provide guidance through virtual sessions, helping members navigate complex technical and organizational challenges while fostering their career growth.
Coaches join a supportive community and undergo rigorous training to master the Mento Coaching Methodology. The position is designed for leaders who wish to leverage their technical background to make a meaningful impact on others' careers.
What you'll do
- Provide 1:1 coaching to members via virtual sessions using Mento tools
- Communicate with members between sessions through email or chat
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance coaching abilities
- Share insights and tools to improve community coaching practices
- Act as an empathetic ambassador for the Mento community
What you'll need
- 15+ years leading technical research teams in AI/ML or health tech
- Director, VP, or equivalent senior engineering leadership experience
- Expertise in theoretical and applied AI/ML or mathematical sciences
- Commitment to dedicate 3-5 hours per week for at least 24 months
- Based in North America or Europe
- Willingness to complete the ICF-certified Mento Coaching 101 program
Nice to have
- PhD in a relevant technical field
- Publications or patents from top research organizations
- Previous experience coaching or mentoring researchers
How you'll work
- Fully remote position
- Contract basis with hourly pay and performance bonuses
- Minimum 12 hours per month commitment required
- Must be available for a minimum of 24 months
- Candidates must reside in North America or Europe
