This role pairs experienced engineering directors and VPs with researchers to help them achieve professional goals and improve leadership skills. You will provide guidance through virtual sessions, helping members navigate complex technical and organizational challenges while fostering their career growth.
What you'll do
- Conduct 1:1 coaching sessions with members via the Mento platform
- Communicate with members between sessions through email or chat
- Participate in ongoing training to refine coaching methodologies
- Share insights and tools to enhance community coaching practices
- Act as an empathetic ambassador for the Mento community
What you'll need
- 15+ years leading technical research teams in AI, healthtech, or space tech
- Expertise in theoretical and applied AI/ML or mathematical sciences
- Ability to dedicate at least 12 hours per month for 24+ months
- Capacity to commit three to five hours weekly regardless of other jobs
- Based in North America or Europe
- Willingness to complete the rigorous ICF-certified Coach Training 101
Nice to have
- PhD in a relevant technical field
- Publications or patents from top research organizations
- Previous experience coaching or mentoring researchers
How you'll work
- Fully remote position
- Candidates must reside in North America or Europe
- Contract basis with hourly pay and performance bonuses
- Minimum commitment of 24 months
- Requires 3-5 hours of availability per week
