As an Engineering Lead at BJAK, you will own the technical execution for major products and systems. You will design scalable architectures, write code, and guide engineering initiatives from concept to production while raising the overall engineering bar.
The role requires strong leadership in solving complex problems and making architectural trade-offs. You will work closely with teams across different time zones, ensuring high-quality delivery through robust system design and development practices.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and systems
- Design scalable backend, frontend, API, and infrastructure solutions
- Write code, review peers, and debug production issues
- Make architecture decisions balancing speed, cost, and reliability
- Translate ambiguous product needs into clear technical plans
- Mentor engineers and lead critical technical initiatives
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, or distributed systems
- Strong skills in system design for high-scale environments
- Proven ability to remain hands-on with coding tasks
- Track record of leading projects from design to production
- Ability to make sound technical trade-offs and solve complex problems

- Experience scaling teams or systems during significant growth
- Background working across multiple products or countries
