As an Engineering Lead at BJAK, you will own the technical execution for major systems while remaining deeply involved in coding and architecture. You will translate ambiguous product challenges into robust technical solutions, ensuring scalability and reliability across backend, frontend, and infrastructure layers.
The position requires strong leadership in raising engineering standards through better design, testing, and observability practices. You will mentor engineers and guide critical initiatives in a distributed environment that values speed and technical excellence.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and systems
- Design scalable backend, frontend, API, and infrastructure solutions
- Write code, review peers, and debug production issues directly
- Make architecture trade-offs balancing speed, cost, and reliability
- Convert ambiguous problems into clear technical execution plans
- Mentor engineers and lead technically critical initiatives
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, APIs, or cloud infrastructure
- Strong skills in system design for high-scale environments
- Proven ability to remain hands-on with coding tasks
- Track record of leading projects from design to production
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
