As an Engineering Lead at BJAK, you will own the technical execution for major systems while remaining deeply involved in coding and architecture. You will translate ambiguous product challenges into clear technical solutions, ensuring scalability and reliability across backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
This position requires a leader who can raise engineering standards through strong system design, testing, and mentorship. You will collaborate with a distributed international team, making critical trade-offs to balance speed, cost, and maintainability.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and initiatives
- Design scalable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, and infrastructure
- Write code, prototype, review peers, and solve production issues
- Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, scale, and cost
- Convert ambiguous problems into clear technical execution plans
- Improve engineering quality via better design, testing, and security
- Lead critical technical projects and mentor engineers across teams
What you'll need
- 7+ years of software engineering experience shipping production systems
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, distributed systems, or cloud infra
- Strong system design skills for complex or high-scale environments
- Proven coding ability with a willingness to stay hands-on
- Track record of leading major engineering projects from design to launch
- Ability to make sound technical trade-offs and influence other engineers
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
