As BJAK scales its technology products across Southeast Asia, the company needs technical leaders to solve complex engineering challenges. The Engineering Lead owns technical execution for major systems, balancing hands-on coding with architectural decision-making.
You will collaborate with a distributed international team, turning ambiguous product problems into clear technical solutions while raising the overall engineering bar through better design, testing, and practices.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and systems
- Design scalable backend, frontend, API, and infrastructure solutions
- Write code, prototype, review, and debug alongside the team
- Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, cost, and reliability
- Translate ambiguous product issues into technical execution plans
- Mentor engineers and lead critical technical initiatives
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, or distributed systems
- Strong system design skills for high-scale environments
- Proven ability to remain hands-on with coding tasks
- Track record of leading projects from design to production
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
