As an Engineering Lead at BJAK, you will own the technical execution for major systems while remaining deeply involved in coding and architecture. You will translate ambiguous product challenges into clear technical solutions, ensuring scalability and reliability across backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
This position requires a leader who can raise engineering standards through better design, testing, and observability practices. You will mentor engineers and drive critical initiatives in a distributed, fast-paced international environment.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and systems
- Design scalable backend, frontend, API, and infrastructure solutions
- Write code, prototype, review, and debug alongside the team
- Make architecture trade-offs balancing speed, cost, and reliability
- Convert ambiguous problems into clear technical execution plans
- Improve engineering quality via testing, security, and observability
- Mentor engineers and lead technically critical initiatives
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, or distributed systems
- Strong system design skills for high-scale environments
- Proven ability to remain hands-on with coding tasks
- Track record of leading projects from design to production
- Ability to make sound technical trade-offs and solve complex issues
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
