As an Engineering Lead at BJAK, you will own the technical execution for major products and systems used by millions across Southeast Asia. You will balance high-level architecture decisions with hands-on coding, ensuring scalable and reliable solutions from idea to production.
The role requires strong leadership in a distributed environment, where you will mentor engineers, improve development practices, and solve complex technical challenges while collaborating with international colleagues.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and initiatives
- Design scalable backend, frontend, API, and infrastructure systems
- Write code, prototype, review, and debug alongside the team
- Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, cost, and reliability
- Translate ambiguous product problems into clear technical plans
- Improve engineering quality via testing, security, and observability
- Lead critical initiatives and mentor engineers across teams
What you'll need
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with production systems
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, or distributed systems
- Strong system design skills for complex or high-scale environments
- Proven ability to remain hands-on with strong coding skills
- Track record of leading projects from design through production
- Ability to make sound technical trade-offs and solve production issues
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
