KIRA is seeking an Engineering Lead to drive technical strategy and execution for systems used by millions of users. This hands-on leadership role involves designing scalable architectures, writing code, and mentoring engineers across backend, frontend, and infrastructure domains.
You will translate ambiguous product challenges into clear technical solutions, ensuring high standards for reliability, security, and performance. The team operates globally, requiring strong collaboration skills in a distributed environment.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and engineering initiatives
- Design scalable and reliable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, and infrastructure
- Write code, prototype features, and conduct code reviews alongside the team
- Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, scalability, cost, and maintainability
- Translate ambiguous product problems into clear technical solutions and plans
- Improve engineering quality through better testing, security, and observability practices
- Lead critical technical initiatives and mentor engineers across different teams
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience shipping production systems
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, or cloud infrastructure
- Strong skills in system design and architecture for complex or high-scale environments
- Proven ability to remain hands-on with strong coding capabilities
- Track record of leading major engineering projects from design to production
- Ability to make sound technical trade-offs and solve complex production issues
- Strong English communication skills for global team collaboration

- Experience scaling engineering teams or systems during significant growth phases
- Background operating across multiple products, markets, or countries
